Question Google Must Have Deleted My Gmail Account?

I am nearly brain dead from struggling with all of this so called 'phone' tech.
Long story:
I signed into My Health Records app. In order to access certain information in the app I have to verify my account using the email address I registered my account with.
I can no longer access that gmail account! Apparently google will delete or lockout email accounts that aren't active for a period of time?

When I try to sign in to my gmail account I encounter the message, "Couldn't find your google account."
Ok so that made me think maybe I could just open another gmail account using that same address but...
When I try to open a new account using that same address I get a message saying, "That username is taken. Try another."
Is there a way to recover or reinstate a gmail account that google has basically seized?

I have been informed by the government office in charge of My HealthRecords that I can re-register my account using a different email account; that will give me verification again but I will lose access to all health records older than 18 months. Fine and dandy, so Google has caused me to lose access to my health records.

It seems impossible to contact google; it seems like google is just a big computer; there are no people available to help, just convoluted written tutorials.
I am hoping someone can tell me how to restore my gmail account that google has 'frozen'?
Thanks

That is very helpful information. I will try that contact method.
Yes it could have been a couple of years since I used that account; I opened that gmail account to use solely for verifying access to my online health records. I thought it would be safer that way. That thinking backfired on me.

I am receiving direct messages telling me to contact people at certain email addresses. Is this kosher on this forum?
ie. Direct message from fford0489 New Member, "It is possible but only email hackers does this and if you have to reach you will need to send email to joehack92 @ gmail . com"
This is the 2nd message of this kind that I have received. The first one was from a member named 'Closebor' I feel leary to reply to it. I can't even find it in my account now. It went, "Get in touch with a recovery analyst creedtech7 @ gmail . com

That's totally spam. We've zapped that spammer from the forums. If you see something like that, you can tap the Report button to let us know, thanks!
