I need to add a separate email account (Hotmail) and I want it to stand alone and not go through gmail. How do I do this?

I need to be able to send email from this account with no reference to my gmail account.

Thanks,
Steve

Yea, use the non gmail email app. lol.

But wait, why don't you want it to go through the gmail app? I haven't tried the stock email on here; but, I know the one on the epic was terrible and didn't work right.

You know you can send email from a different address through gmail right? To my knowledge there is no indication on the other end that this was done.

Under accounts and sync, setup a corporate account using the exchange settings mail setup for mobile access.

\username.hotmail.com
Password
m.hotmail.com

That's what I do. It's a little delayed though. I will admit. So if you need to emails NOW, I wouldn't use this set up.

Thanks for the ideas

The problem is my hotmail (a work thing) come through with a "via gmail.com" attached to all my mail.

I will try thebelow suggestion and let you know
\username.hotmail.com
Password
m.hotmail.com

Just asking, but why do you do this? You can now get hotmail as an exchange account, so why bother running it through gmail?

Just so you know, it's:

\username@hotmail.com
Password
m.hotmail.com

So if your email was "fakejohn@hotmail.com" and your password fakepass, it'd be:

\fakejohn@hotmail.com
fakepass
m.hotmail.com

And this is under "manual config" for an exchange server.
