Add To Home screen Default

On all my other androids when I used the ATHS it put the shortcut on an open space of one of my established screens. My new Tab E sends the shortcut to a new screen as if there is no room on one of the existing screens. Is there anyway to change this behavior?

Anybody on here owning a Tab E 9.6 can you try this and see if yours exhibits this behavior?

From what I've seen in other threads regarding other recent Samsung devices, there has to be a free spot the lower right of the homescreen -- if there isn't, then the shortcut gets added to a new homescreen, even if there are plenty of open slots higher up on the existing homescreen.

I did a test an hid the "Apps" button on the bottom right corner of the HS and just to be sure moved the one right above it.
Then I did an "Add to Home Screen" action and the shortcut went to a newly created HS.

Will keep looking. Might be one of those things That can't be changed.
