Yeah, not having hardware buttons is driving my fingers' muscle memory nuts haha I keep hitting the bottom bezel expecting it to work .

Im the same as i switch between the S6E and G4 lol

I do enjoy it. Double tap to wake works really well on the g4. Not so much on the g2 and g pad 8.3.

Loved it on my G2 but I'm finding the Ambient display from the MotoX is even better on my Nexus 6. I just pick it up and the Clock and notifications light up in black and white letting me swipe up to unlock the device. And its really smart. Works when pulling out of pocket or a slight rock.

Sometimes with double tap it wouldn't register or I wouldn't tap it just right and I found myself repeatedly tapping 5-6 times.

And I remember there being a screen off app that I could set Novas "Double tap" feature to to turn off the screen.

So I see with Nova Prime under the gestures (I don't have it, just the option to purchase which I will do with my permanent G4) "double tap". Can that be programmed to operate the screen off function?

I'm so into the double tap on/off I'd be hard pressed to get a launcher if I can't program it to do the same thing.

Yeah, you just set the double tap gesture in Nova to use the screen off app. Double tap to wake will work without having to do anything.

Also for those who don't want to use nova. No matter what launcher you can always double tap the status bar and the screen will turn off. Not the easiest but it's an option.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I can't get used to the on-screen buttons or the volume/power buttons on the back (I'm still using this with a Note 4, and I've been a Samsung user since the S2, so...), but by Zeus, the double tap to wake thing is addicting! Haha. I find myself trying to turn the Note 4 on (or off) with the double tap so often now!

I love the double tap to wake option. I miss not having it.

But I will have it on Friday!

Knock Code not the same as double tap to wake/sleep. Just sayin'

Strange, when you disable knockcode in hidden settings on the G3 it disables double tap to wake.

My friend told me about the double tap feature since she had the g3. I love it. I find that it doesn't always work though. Like it's not responsive sometimes and responsive other times. Anyone else?

I have the tan leather G4. It is amazing! Coming from an S4. Question about the double tap to wake....Is there like a certain spot on the screen you have to double tap? as it only works when i tap the left and right hand side of the screen, the middle of the screen doesn't respond at all to the double tap. It works when i double tap to sleep though. Same with the Glance view feature only works when i drag my finger down the left or right hand side from top to bottom. If i drag it down the middle of the screen it doesnt wake. Not a big deal but just wondering if there's a way to sort this or has anyone else's doing the same?

Try a reboot to see if that cures

If you're using the stock launcher, you need to tap on an EMPTY space on the homescreen. If there's a widget or shortcut there, it won't work. And from other posters, if you use other launchers, double tapping on the status bar should always work no matter which launcher you use (I tried it with Themer; it works).

Yeah i'm using stock launcher. I mean when the screen is asleep. I can only double tap certain points on the screen. It just doesnt work for me when i double tap the middle to wake or try glance view dragging down the middle either. It works when i double tap to sleep though which is weird. I've tried recalibrating the screen and restarted my handset. Haven't factory rebooted it yet though. Thanks for the quick replies folks
