Adding contacts

My wife has been using a Nokia 6030 for many, many years and I have recently bought her a Moto e7i Power phone. The Nokia has her contacts saved to the SIM but it is a standard sized DIM; the Moto of course, has an Nano SIM.

I am assuming that if I use the standard 'frame', I can put the new Nano into the Nokia, copy the contacts to the SIM then transfer the SIM into the Moto and her contacts will be good to go.

Is this a correct assumption?

I don't want to make a mistake and accidental delete her contacts!

Thanks and toodle pip

If you have the correct size adaptor, then yes, you can do that. When you go to import the contacts into the Moto however, I would highly recommend choosing her Google account as the place that they're stored (make sure you've already added the account to the phone before importing the contacts so that it gives you that option). Phone storage, memory cards, and SIM cards can all be corrupted/damaged/lost/stolen etc., so cloud storage is always the best place to store all data/information. That also makes it very easy to transfer data in the future.

PS. You should also go through the process of adding a new contact for the first time because it'll probably ask you to choose the default storage location. You want to make sure that that is also set to the Google account, so that new future contacts go there as well

I agree with mustang7757. See if you can export those SIM contacts to a VCF file, and then import them to the appropriate Google account: https://support.google.com/contacts/answer/1069522?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform=Desktop. That way, your contacts are easily available and safe in the cloud. They will sync automatically with any device that you log in with that account, and any new contact you enter on the phone (as long as it's saved to the Google account) will immediately get synced to your Google Contacts in the cloud.
