Adding credit card to Google Pay (GPay) app... NOT working

So ... "new phone, who dis?"

Anyhoo... I'm having a problem trying to add just one particular VISA card to Google Pay app.

I always end up with this screen. (Below image attachment is an example from online.)



I've contacted my credit card bank several times in the past 48 hours.

Apparently, it might be my phone, because tech support mentioned (after deleting/reseting on their end, and mine deleted and restored on Google account through web browser) that there was no indication that my later attempts at activating the card were registered on their server networks or whatever it is on their end.

I'm guessing you also tried clearing the app cache/data for Gpay in the Settings>Apps​ menu?

I also get some other errors:

"Request Failed: Your transaction cannot be completed. [OR-TAPSH-08]"

or

something about some app has "access on top"

Have you denied any permission for the app?

I checked. It doesn't look like it.

Apparently, most apps cannot be accessed through Safe Mode.

Preinstalled apps should still work -- I just don't know if Gpay is preinstalled on a Note9. The older Google Pay might be, but that probably wouldn't help since it's been deprecated.

Yeah, I deleted "Google Pay" app after initial failed attempts to add just this one particular card. I don't know having the deprecated app will affect Gpay.

if you are getting the same error message, you will need to contact google. the problem is with them, nothing you can do. I recently had the same problem with a prepaid card. Found the following and gave it a try https://www.interiorsavings.com/per...bile-banking/mobile-wallet/google-pay/support

If you are not getting the same errors, you will need to be more specific as to the problem.
