Hi there,

When using the default LG launcher for my LG G3, I am able to select the standard LG ‘Calendar (Month) 5x5 widget’ to a blank page.

However, when I switch to ‘Nova Launcher’ the standard ‘LG Calendar (Month) 5x5 widget’ does not appear under available widgets to add.

Is this possible when I am using Nova Launcher?

Thanks,

litfoo

Certain widgets will not appear for any 3rd party launcher. One of the more well-known ones is the LG weather widget. But I just tried to find your calendar widget also just now, and got the same as you (does not appear).

As an aside, I am using DigiCal (available in the Play Store), I am really happy with all the widget choices (month views, agenda views, etc.) and colour/display/customization options. Not an ideal solution I know, but I like it more than when I was running stock and using the native calendar widget.

Thanks for the response Klotar.

I too have DigiCal+ and am using the 'Month' Widget Type

In the stock LG Calendar app it has a horizontal bar that goes across events/entries that span multiple days (like in the month view of the online Google Calendar)

However, in DigiCal+ , instead of a horizontal bar spanning the days, it has each day as an individual/separate entry

Is this a setting that I can toggle? At a glance, I want to easily see events that span multiple days

cheers

I just tried it by making a 3 day event and looked at it in the native calendar and DigiCal+, I see what you mean. No, I don't see any settings that will show that bar going across the days like that (which is pretty cool, I just hadn't had any multi-day events to know otherwise). There were no settings that looked obvious to me either on how to get the bar to span multiple days.

Yeah - does not look like it's possible. :(

Kinda stuck now - want to have the native LG calendar app, but with the added flexibility/functionality of Nova Launcher.

Have you tried the Google Calendar app for Android?

In the screenshots, it shows a multi-day event ("trip to Boston") but it looks like a tablet screenshot, probably the calendar app itself and not the widget but looks hopeful! That said, I don't know if it even has widgets but since it's free, it maybe worth having a look.

Edit: oh oh, I see complaints in the reviews about a missing month view (old screenshots maybe?) but possibly comes with a month view widget.

have tried this one before but it did not have a month view widget that was satisfactory

SolCalendar seems to have what I am looking for
