Adding Music to Samsung Galaxy Prevail Help!

When I added music to my Samsung Galaxy Prevail (it has a sim card and everything. It's set up to the USB storage so I'm setting it up right) it put some songs into the "Unknown" artist category as if they didn't have an artist! I can't figure out how to get them OUT of that category because they definitely have all of their information!!!! When I tried re-adding the music it jumped from 30/580 songs with unknown artists to 535/580 songs with unknown artists. How do I fix this?

You need to use a good music app, that will manage them appropriately.

There are several in the market.

When you recopied them, without deleting the original, I suspect it just duplicated the songs, as it felt they were different.

To delete them, I suspect you need to access the SD via your pc, and delete them manually from the sd card. Probably in the folder Music. But you may have to look.

I should download an application for playing music? But the phone comes with a music storing/playing capability, does it just suck? Are there any you suggest or should I just browse?

It depends on what carriers decide to ship with their phones.

WinAmp, or PowerAmp, is a good place to start.

I think what happened, is that when you tried to copy, several times, whatever program you use, thought they were different albums, and replicated them accordingly.

Keep in mind, sometimes, carriers install "bloatware" because they don't have to pay royalties
This doesn't mean you get a quality player.

To me, a phone is a phone. An Mp3 player, is exactly that.

In my eyes, there is not one device that plays all.
