Adding storage for movies to S5?

I've recently moved from Samsung S3 to S5 on Verizon. Used to have plenty of storage space to add movies that I could watch while on airplane.

However, with the S5 I only have about 1GB free at the moment. Is there any way to add extra storage capacity to this device? If so, how much storage can I add?

Please help. Thanks.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 can support up to a 128GB SD card...

Micro sd card on my 2nd s5 16 gig sd card.. not a lot. I got a flash pen drive from 5 and below. Theres an adapter a cord like a foot long less than 3 $ on amazon. Plu they have a reversible flash on amazon that connects to computer and phone just a keychain. But its like 45 so i keep my movies on a flash drive on my key chain. I use the cord till i want to spend the xtra $. But its a ton of more storage. And yes your s5 connects to a pen flash drive automatically wth out root so either way u go more store. U just need an adapter hope this helps

Once I connect the SD card, can't I just transfer files via USB cable like I am doing now. Why would I need a cord?

Is it worth buying the more expensive SD card? And will I need to do anything different when loading new applications and/or adding new music to the SD card? Does the SD card show up as a new drive (separate from the S5 itself) when connected to windows?

- When you connect to Windows, you will see your phone in the list of devices on the left side. Once you click on that, you will then see two "folders" (sort of). One will say "phone", the other will say "card". It's very clear where you are going to put your files.
- One thing about buying an SD Card - buy as big as you can afford (up to 128 GB) - I have a 64GB one, got it on sale. ALWAYS make sure that you only buy from a reputable source like NewEgg or Amazon. There are a LOT of fakes out there - DO NOT EVER EVER EVER buy one on eBay or you run the risk of it being fake and not working properly. If the price seems too good to be true, there is a reason.
- For best experience (especially if you're going to be watching movies), buy a card that's Class 10. These are higher speeds for reading and writing to the card.

If you buy the card from Amazon, be sure that it's actually sold by Amazon and not a reseller - that will be clear in the listing. I've heard stories about resellers selling "less than official" SD Cards. You will either end up with less space than you should, or the card will not work properly.

I would also stick ONLY to the big brands - Samsung, Kingston, SanDisk, PNY. They all have good warranties and customer support.

This one, for example, is what I would buy if I needed 128 GB - http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Memory-Adapter--SDSDQUAN-128G-G4A-Version/dp/B00M562LF4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1433331275&sr=1-1&keywords=micro+sd+card+128gb

This is the one I have in my phone - it's 64GB but I don't use my phone for movies, so I don't know how much space you'd need/want - Amazon.com: SanDisk Ultra 64GB UHS-I/Class 10 Micro SDXC Memory Card Up to 48MB/s With Adapter- SDSDQUAN-064G-G4A [Newest Version]: Computers & Accessories

You'll also see that they are sold by AMAZON, not "Bob's Electronics" (example only, no offense to Bob. LOL)

Good luck! Don't cheap out on the SD Card... you'll only end up spending more money in the long run.

Yeah... same one, only smaller. Great buy at 13 bucks! Seriously, though, if you can afford the extra $10 I would most CERTAINLY go for the 64GB. Especially with the S5 taking better photos and videos than the S3. I too had an S3 before my S5. Don't think that "I will never need more than 32". If the prices were, say, $50 and $75 then yes - I'd go cheaper too. But the difference in price between the 32GB and the 64GB? It's almost too good to pass up.

Either way you cut it, this is a fantastic deal on a QUALITY card. Neither one will let you down on the performance - and the 10 year warranty from SanDisk.
