additional charge for 4g?

Shh. Don't say stuff like that. It will just encourage them to raise prices. :-$

Haha wouldn't that be funny. Verizon has a lot of pull right now considering their 4g will be spread out more than the competition.

if rates keep increasing just think, 10 years from now we will be paying 150$ for a single line a month.

^^ would not like that but I see it going that way the but I hope tmo can expand their coverage and move to lte advanced because I'm tired of high prices but would rather pay extra knowing I'm covered in some areas that I travel

black_man_x again told someone tonight to expect $15 more for 4G LTE service

A lot of people don't like to read unsubstantiated rumors, but I was told the same thing from one of my Verizon contacts. If this does end up being true; it amounts to an additional cost of an off contract phone per year. They take an unpopular 4G add on from Sprint and add an additional $5 per month :/

At this point I dont think they will charge for 4g at this point. If the rumored price of 249.99 is legit then i think thats how they will "tax" 4g, but increasing the price on the phone, and not charging for the service.

I mean, why WOULD they charge extra for 4G? As been discussed before, it would draw customers away from verizon to cheaper carriers, and didn't someone say that 4G is cheaper for verizon to utilize? maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I don't think they'll charge extra.

I agree with what you said 100%. The only thing is that verizon will use the "quality" description as their tool to justify the increase. If they charge more for devices instead of plans then I would go for it (although I don't think this will be their strategy).

Anybody remember how Verizon's ETF policy works haha.

Its hard to use the "quality" argument when the majority of consumers won't have access to 4G in their area.
I think what some people have said about the TB being $250 being to possibly offset 4G costs for now might be likely.

If I had to pay more for a phone for it to be future proofed, or buy a phone and pay extra for a service I can't use; I'd deffinetly choose the former.

Agreed completely. While I have 100% faith in Verizon's 4G network, just like I do their 3G network, there's only so far you can pull the quality card before you're just going to start putting a bad taste in your customers mouths. Especially those who have been with them (like myself) for 6+ years.

I can't wait to see how they charge for LTE! Most people I talk to are just starting to accept paying extra for a smartphone because they want to check Facebook lol. While 4G will have it's own benefits like video for calls and faster streaming, I don't think most people will be willing to shell out extra for it. Verizon's first 4G phone can't arrive fast enough for so many reasons!

I for one am putting my foot down! If Verizon wants to rape their customers and charge them for anything and everything they can, then so be it. But I will NOT be one of them. There are going to be plenty of nice 3G phones to choose from and Verizon can keep their 4G service fee!

black_man_x: "expect to pay an panda upcharge for LTE.. they havent advised yet (not that I need to know in my role anyway)"

black_man_x: " there will be options for those that dont want a 4g device. and u will pay my 4g fees!! Panda got to eat man!!

And for future reference... I'm typing everything verbatim from black_man_x's Tweets. So if something is horribly worded grammatically... it's him, NOT me.
