*HOW TO INSTALL FLASH PLAYER FOR PRECEDENT*

I've noticed the outrage toward the Precedent's lack of Adobe Flash compatibility, but haven't seen much in the form of answers.

Android Campus developed a mod of Adobe Flash Player for ARMv6 + ARMv7 (lower end) devices. I've tested their newest version (Flash Player 10.2) with success on my Precedent.

The instructions are very simple, so no reason for any of you newcomers to Android to worry. The only thing I'd like to stress before you visit the link is that you reboot your device after installation.

With that being said, have at it. Instructions & Download are included on their page at the link below:

Does not work at all, installs and shows up but there is no apparent benefit seeing as I'm still unable to see flash content on my phone. Don't waste your time or risk the integrity of your phone. If there is a flash plugin that does work please let me know or let me know how to get back to factory settings.don't buy a new phone only to use these features that's exactly how these companies plan to get rich by forced obsolescence!!

I can assure you this method works. Matter of fact, I just used it today to stream and play music on turntable.fm from Dolphin Browser HD on my Precedent.

Android Campus does state that you will have best results on a browser such as Dolphin, rather than stock Browser.

Also, did you restart your phone after installation?

This. Not working for me either. I rebooted just as the OP stated and truer it on dolphin HD, dolphin mini, and the default browser. It didn't do anything at all. To the OP, try watching a video on xhamster (dot) com. The actual site not the mobile version... oh yeah, it's porn... but why else would anyone go through all this trouble.

I've no trouble streaming YouTube videos via Dolphin Browser (don't even have YouTube app installed). I watched a live stream of yesterday's football game on my browser as well.

For those of you having trouble, this is not my project. If you're having trouble, I suggest you comment on the bottom of the page link at Android Campus.

Good luck.

My first question is, if I plug my phone into the computer with my cord, what do I click on to pull up the instructions on how to figure out my phone fully? My second question is why won't my phone let me download the abobe flash player off my mobile website? It keeps telling me my phone is not compatible. Please e-mail me with the information, dtongaonevai@gmail.com.

I also installed this and it worked pretty well. Some sites had half screen with static picture. But it seemed to be working some. The next day it was gone. Is there a setting that can be changed so that it will not go away. Maybe sync with the service provider does away with this. The provider has it where my device is not compatible to download Flash Player from Android Market, evidently to keep from downloading videos on their unlimited (so-called) plan. Don't find this out until you buy their Precedent phone. Thanks.

Yea I downloaded it too and still can't watch movies. I could already watch porn videos but was wanting to watch some movies off letmewatchthis and it says I need flash 9 or better. So what's the trick?

If you guys are interested, I've found a version of Flash that works on my Samsung Replenish (also ARMv6), and it might just work for you guys. A lot of the methods of flash that I tried stopped working after a reboot, which I think you guys might be experiencing.

See this thread if you want to give it a shot, the installation method will be exactly the same:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-replenish/152668-adobe-flash-player-11-1-armv6.html

Note: You need to be able to move files into the /data folder, and edit file permissions for this method to work.

I can't seem to get it to work either! I installed the dolphin hd browser the did everything the steps on here says to do. The adobe flas player did download and install to my phone but yeah, it's not working. When I go back to weebly.com to edit my website, it still prompts me that I need to install adobe flash player. It's really frustrating! And of course, the android market app of it is not compatible with our particular phone. if someone finds a way to make it work, please share the advice. Thanks.

I'm stumped people. I emailed adobe and told them i need a compatible flash for this piece of junk precedent phone. They got back to me 2 says later and requested the kernel version, model number, etc...
Once they got that info.....I got a reply, which was that there is no version of adobe flash player for this model phone.
I wish the info on here were true and it really worked. But u s idiots are posting bogus info. I'm no brainiac with the advanced technological maitenance part of mobile phones but i am perfectly capable of understanding common sense. i cant even root/jailbreak this phone cause i am not comfortable with following instrucions from unknown sources. Its risky.
But i would say there has to be a way to put adobe flash player on this phone if your a super smart computer whiz and truly know what the f u are doing. Problem is that nobody wants to post the OFFICIAL way to get adobe to actually work because this truthfully is a low-end prepaid smartphone with (so-called) unlimited everthing access. I called straight-talk today cause my 3g was mad slow and crashing.... hmmm its A weekend not a weekday....common sense tells me its cause it aint truly unlimited data as because of who is providing our service and because its prepay its not truly official.... thats why flash is not supported it would be too good to be true to only pay 45 monthly and watch all the free $hit we want to.
Any comments email me at bbox4life1983@gmail.com

They never claimed it is - it's "Unlimited talk, text, mobile web access (certain limitations apply to data access)". It's right there on the back of the box, before you open it.

Considering the difference in performance between the, say, Nexus and the Precedent, and the difference in prices, the Precedent is worth the $130 you pay for it.
