Adoptable Memory on the S7E

I got my phone set up for adoptable memory a week after I got it. Now I'm wondering what happens if I pull the simple tray out? More info, I have the phone encrypted, so it requires a pass code at startup, and the reason I want to pull the tray is to try another Sim card. My phone will suddenly stop detecting my sim card and go into emergency calls only mode. Phone has only been dropped 2 times, last time was 2 months ago.

I'm not sure what your question is other than what happens if you remove your SD card? If the phone is on, it will crash. If off, you will lose access to data on the card and some apps/data will be unavailable

Be sure to unmount the SD card first.
Go to settings >system >storage >SD card >unmount

So will I lose the apps I have stored on it or can I safely remove it and replace my sim card?

So sorry, didn't take in you were referring to sim card (Brain Fog!). Turn device off, swap sim and reboot. Your data on the sim is safe.

You only lose access to the apps and data while the card is separate from the phone. Once you replace the card everything will be back to normal.
