Adoptable storage without root

Anyone tried this yet? I am wondering how it might affect the performance of Writes. Since writing to the internal memory is generally faster than writing to the SD Card, data stored on the internal memory part of the drive should be faster (?). However, if both the internal memory and the SD Card are all considered one drive, how do you know where the data is actually being stored? I believe that the idea is just to consider both of them as one continguous drive area, but I am just wondering how it affects Write performance?

Adoptable Storage Via ADB

I can't post links here yet (I guess) but either way I stumbled upon some instructions on enabling Adoptable Storage via ADB this morning:

The website is called "modaco" d. com.

A quick Google should provide the link.

Anyone try this yet?
