Anyone getting random ads on their phone? This AM alone I have received one ad to give me more secure wi-fi (received while I was on my secured home wi-fi), and then an add for some applications I would never use while at the store. Yesterday, received an ad for some game. They are not coming via email or via messages, they are just popping up.

I just went through and disabled notifications from the Samsung store and some google services to see if that works.

But for the long term Samsung users is this the norm on a Samsung phone? If yes, I'll send this phone back to Amazon. I really like this phone, but Ads drive me crazier than politicians.

as far as I am aware.. not it's not normal. The phone itself shouldn't have ad's like that.
It is POSSIBLE that the carrier is bashing you with those ads. I do remember vaguely that depending on the carrier and the type of plan you have, the phone may see some ads here and there or even during setup process at the very first time... it'll install some sponsored apps (app owners pay carriers to default install onto the phone during setup).

When an ad appears, what do you see if you tap the App Overview button? Does it show that a browser is responsible for the ad, or something else?

My first S22 I had the spotify ad; and so I deleted Spotify.

Ad appears it is a full page ad, if I try and see where it is coming from it disappears. Don't believe it is coming from the provider; never had one on my Pixel 4XL and I was with Tracfone for many years.

I do believe they are some type of ad notifications from some of the apps installed that's why I stopped any notifications from any apps I do not use.
Haven't had one yet since I cut off notifications.

Just did a scan; no malware, virus etc., detected.

If I get anymore, I'll give Samsung a call.

Since I purchased from Amazon I have 30 days...some 20 days left...to return.

Take a screenshot next time you get an ad, sometimes that gives a clue of which app is pushing it.

Maybe try Nice Catch in the Good Lock app?

Do you have AT&T branded phone? At the start they give you ads for their services a few times in the notifications, including ads to install recommended apps. It eventually should go away within a few days. I haven't seen any since really the first day or so.

No, I have an unlocked, but I am connected to Tracfone so I'm on Verizon towers, but been with them for years and never had anything like these pages.
However, last night I received this and is sure appears to be coming from the phone...
It appears to be something in the software telling me what options I have. Once I closed it, I can no longer find anything on my phone for UTILITIES....or "LOCKED Folder. There is a secure folder. And have no idea what a Partner account is. Starting to get on my nerves.

Did you get it directly from Amazon or a third party marketplace seller? looks like phishing to me.

Unless you've installed a dodgy app... As someone else said, try using Nice Catch.

Don't be paranoid. Locked Folder is a feature of Google Photos. For the first few days, the phone occasionally pops up hints about suggested features for the benefit of people who may not have read the documentation. There may be a setting to turn the hints off, but they'll stop soon anyway.

Here's an old article from Android central. It's for the S21, but I just followed as many of the suggestions. I'll see what happens.

Phone is directly from Amazon's Samsung Store; not from a third party supplier. Would not have purchased if not directly from Amazon.

And believe me there is a big difference between being paranoid and something getting on a person's nerves. However, I am beginning to believe some of these things are hints and I do not need; nor want hints. And if the so-called hints don't stop; I'll go back to the 4XL and hopefully, google will produce a better 7 then they did a 6. I hope that doesn't happen, but if it does it does.

Time will tell....

Last night, this appeared from ARC advertising...

Pressing on it, the screen went to what appears to be an ad for youtube. (I have the you tube app disabled and even added no notifications allowed).

I will contact Samsung to see if these are caused by Samsung and designed to try and make them another penny or two. If I think it is a yes, this phone will go back faster than it arrived, if not, I'll do a factory reset and try it again. But I am not going to put up with this BS.

What options do you get if you click the three dots top right of those ads? Also, next time post the screenshot as an attachment instead of Imgur link. In Samsung devices screenshots include the app that was in use in their file name.

Just in case, see the file names of those screenshots using your Gallery of File Manager.

When I tried to find file names on the first page ARC, that is when it jumped to Youtube and you can see that small ARC logo on the left bottom of the you tube.

I just finished doing a factory reset. Hopefully, it was something that was picked up off an app I installed, even if all were from the Play Store.

Every time I open the Galaxy store I get hit with an ad for some game that nobody wants. I keep clicking "Never show again" but they keep coming.

Just an update.

Since doing the factory reset; there have been no unwanted ads or strange notifications (knock on wood).

I'm blaming it on a new app from the Play store I loaded the first day.

When I first set up the new phone, I did all from scratch, I copied over every app that I had on the 4XL as new from the play store, same with contacts, same with everything. Nothing was copied over from the 4XL, even if the 4XL was running great.

There was a new app installed the first day (Lucid Daydream Screensaver), and it was from that day on that I had the strange ads and notifications. I also added Good Lock and the Samsung Network app, but those two were added a day or two after the problems started.

When I did the new clean install a few days ago, I setup as I did the first day; however, this time I did not install the Lucid Daydream Screensaver app from the play store. However, I did install Good Lock and Samsung Network

I'm guessing that one app, Lucid Daydream Screensaver was the problem.

The main fact is that I do not believe it was the phone, but an app I installed.

Last week I began receiving unwanted ads on my notification tray as well. Galaxy Fold 3.

It looks like Samsung is trying to push these abhorrent ads to see if it will generate some angry. If nobody complains, they’ll continue doing that.

I called them and complained. A lot. Hope a lot of people did the same.

In my case, it was not samsung. It was an app, installed from the Play Store.

I guess I could write google, but I already know their answer. Even through the play store we install apps at our own risk.
