So my battery had turned to mush after the voLTE update and after trying for a day to figure out what was wrong I looked at the stock battery app after I put my phone on the charger. It showed Be Weather as using more battery than my screen.

I sent this screenshot to Be Weather to let them know what was going on and I uninstalled the app for now.

At one point yesterday I went through 45 percent of my battery in 9 hours with no video and no games, just a couple of pics, some music from my onboard music player, Facebook and texting.

Right now I am 10 percent down in three and a half hours which is not great since I am not working it hard but about what I have been getting 13 months into this battery.

It sounds like this was more of a problem with the Be weather app than with the Advanced Calling update.

Every once in a while I get an app that does this to me. The most recent was the ESPN Sportscenter app, which suddenly started draining battery one day. Whenever I see a third party app do this, I just uninstall it. There are always alternatives that play nicely with the battery.

Anyway, it's been a day - has battery life improved since uninstalling the app?

(As of now, I still haven't received the OTA update for VoLTE. I really don't care all that much, because I have no interest at all in VoLTE. Maybe I will when Verizon actually gets reliable LTE at my house...)

Yes, my battery is back to "normal" again. Be Weather was not acting up until the volte update, and now things are peaceful with the app uninstalled. I still only have one contact to volte video chat with, but will have another contact tomorrow. They are both S5 users.

I am glad you figured it out.

JMHO

Thanks, me too! I was going to do a factory reset once the advanced calling update was pushed out for all and if that didn't work I was already researching new phones.
