Advertisements on the Screen Unlock screen

I have a black S7 on US Cellular network. This is my first Samsung. I'm getting advertisements pushed to my unlock screen that need to be cleared. Not sure if this is a Samsung thing or a USCC thing or if it's something on my phone I need to clear or remove. Does anybody know? Tried taking a screenshot of the latest one, but couldn't until I unlocked the screen and then the ads were gone. One appeared to be from Ghostery (not using on phone or computer), don't remember the other one.

There's been a lot of that. A common culprit lately has been es file explorer, but there are many other apps that are putting the lockscreen ads in to make more money for themselves. If it just started, try deleting any recently added apps, then backtrack to ones that have recently been updated.

Attaching an example of the type of ad I get. Never happened on Moto X, and same apps installed. And ES File Explorer isn't one of them. Anybody have any ideas? Have to swipe to clear this screen, then you get to the unlock screen.

Have not tried safe mode, will have to read up on how to do that. May have just had a key learning. Got another one of those screens, and decided to click on the 3 dots. Got a selection of either Turn Off or About. Decided to choose About, and phone opened up to Z Camera app (something I never installed but is on the phone). So maybe that's what is putting up the ad. Next time I get one, I'm selecting Turn Off :-)

Update: when it came back on, and I clicked on Turn Off, it said that SpeedCharge would no longer be activated.
Turn off SpeedCharge? Your charging speed will no longer be boosted. Are you sure to turn off?

Anyone know if saying yes stops the phone from being able to quick charge? I'm using a Samsung FastCharger wireless charger.
Update: just now reading article from B.Diddy post about SpeedCharge, haven't yet finished with it ...

The SpeedCharge thing is totally bogus. Turn that off, or get rid of the app that's responsible for it. Z Camera has been mentioned as a culprit -- are you saying that it came preinstalled, or it suddenly showed up without you installing it?

I did not install Z Camera (never heard of it before this phone). Same with SpeedCharge. Haven't used Z Camera, maybe I can get rid of both it and SpeedCharge. If I go to the Google Play store, don't find either of those apps in the list of My Apps.

Update: have just uninstalled Z Camera (never used it since I've had the phone). Now will have to see if the ad screen goes away when on charge. Googled SpeedCharge and ads, and found numerous references to older versions of Samsung phones and Android in general.

It's mostly Samsung because not only are they the most popular brand, the ads are targetted to them too. I've often seen ads for such apps saying 'speed up your samsung phone'.

So far this morning, with Z Camera uninstalled, no SpeedCharge ads to unlock before my regular unlock screen when the phone is on the charger :D

Bunch of BS that the Devs are using these tactics.
Go to Settings - Notifications - Select which apps. Turn off notifications from everything there except the ones you want.

I uninstalled ES File Explorer because I couldn't get it to copy any files. Among other things.
