I've got a strange problem. I have a phone where when I turn on the screen, advertising from Yahoo is displayed on the whole screen. I can just close it, but it's annoying to see an ad when I turn on the phone. I have tried Googling this but the only thing I can find pertains to unwanted emails. What I am experiencing is not an email. What can I do about it? This morning I checked and there were around 30 tabs open with advertising. There must be something that I need to block or turn off but I don't know what it could be. It's happening on an old Samsung Note 4 that I keep as a secondary phone for the business. Any advice would be appreciated!

i use adblock plus on chrome + firefox & don't see ads......some sites need to be white listed or closed.

THIS.

it was so weird seeing an ad just pop up on my screen...turns out that universal remote app was just as obnoxious as it was handy.
Yeah , known problem , I did use it myself back in the day .

I can empathize with consumers who spent serious cash on their flagship smartphones and being adverse to Samsung advertisements. But on the flipside, I spent $350 on a new $1000 flagship phone, Samsung Galaxy S10+ in November, 2019. Given that cost and all the wizardry you get that phone(which I still have not exhausted), I find the commercialization of Samsung & Google tolerable.
