How incredibly unaware can google be???

I am setting up a new phone and want to copy some data from my existing phone. Like most of you, I have received many, many spam calls, so I tell my phone to block the number. Needless to say, I want to copy this list to the new phone, but based on that which I have seen, google in it’s incredible blindness does not make this possible. How inept can they be???

Which phones are the new and old ones? Are you using the same exact Google account? When you set up the new phone, did you choose the option to restore using the latest Google backup of the older phone?

Unless you have a Pixel or it uses Google's dialer by default, it's not Google's fault or problem. That hurt me inside to say defending them.

Their idiot Google Messages app still can't effectively block spam.

Google has more flaws than things it gets right these days but this case, it's up to the OEM to transfer from the dialer app. The smart thing would be for the dialer app to create a contact or group called block instead of embedded.

It works really well for me -- almost all political spam messages get routed to the spam folder. I wonder why you're having issues?

Because I'm me. I can fix everyones problems except mine. Same goes for computers and cars and often it stumps the experts too because I have stupid exception type situations like these.
