Advice requested for removing my smartphone battery?

[AC Question]

There's a ± 5 mm wide copper strip, which is fixed at both ends, lying directly on top of the whole length of the left-hand edge of the battery of my Samsung 19100 Galaxy S II model GT-19100 smartphone. I’d be very grateful if you’d advise me on how to remove the battery without damaging the strip and/or battery and/or smartphone?
