My wife and I just moved from AT&T to T-mobile and upgraded our Note Edge and Note 3 to two Note 5s. Android File Transfer does not work with either Note 5. Long calls with tech support from T-mobile, then Google and finally Samsung wasted hours with no solution.
You see, I wanted to xfer 36 Gb of photos (my hi res portfolio) to the Note 5.
My phone is of course Lollipop 5.1.1. My MacBook Pro is back on OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite.
I did download the latest AFT and tried several cables. No luck.
Is this working for any of you?
I did get Software Cable app to work with Filezilla over WiFi using FTP, but that was way to slow.
My final solution was ugly. I connected the Note 5s to my wife's Windows PC, and it amazingly mounted their hard drives. So I had full access and easily downloaded the files. Windows won this round, a rare event.
