I have a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 it is almost 3 years old it has been a fantastic phone until about a month ago when I started to have charging/battery problems. After all day usage it is usually down around 40-50% if I start out at 100%. The way I charge it is every night I power off the phone and charge it overnight and had no problems. Recently after charging it overnight and in the morning it shows 100% then in about an hour with barely any use it drops down to between 45-55% and drains fast from there sometimes it would drop straight to those levels just right after I unplugged the charger from the phone. I have the original stock turbo charger. I have also charged it with another charger and it did a little better it will still show 100% charged before turning on the phone then immediately drops down to @85%. I am at home 90% of the time and on wifi.

BUT if I leave the phone on and charge it up to 100% it holds its charge and is ok for the day. I took it into a cell phone shop and they said the battery was not holding a charge so I had them replace the battery.

It is still doing it.

I have also called Motorola support and they had me do a couple of things like hold the power and volume button to reboot and let the battery totally drain and redo that for about 3 times something like that and their next solution was to reset the phone to factory defaults but did not want to do that quite yet.

Any suggestions on what this could be? It is at 85% now tell me what you want me to show you so you can help me better. Thanks!

Go to Settings, Battery, see what is using your power. Since you have a new lithium battery, don't drain it to zero. Old nicads are able to be refreshed, so to speak, but not lithium which can be damaged permanently by continuing to fully discharge it.

I charged it with the power off last night and used a different charger it showed 100% then when unplugged and turned on it dropped down to 85% and is doing pretty good, but still don't like the drop down and am at home when I go out I will be using data, pictures etc. When I started charging last night it was about 64%. Also more clarification on to discharge or don't discharge this new battery because seems like some disagreement on that solution. Here are screen shots

just googled discharging lithium ion batteries says not too at least over and over, should charge when reaches about 50%. Don't know if one time would hurt it . . .

Do not discharge any lithium ion completely unless it's accidently done. Not even once. You will certainly worsen your battery life further.

ok got it. My concern now is is it ok to always charge your phone while it is on? I don't have a problem with this just thought the correct way was to turn it off and charge that way. My problems are happening when the phone is powered off to charge and it not charging up all the way or holding a charge, but when powered on it is ok . . . .

I'm having similar problems but once my phone reaches 44% it shuts off. I'll turn it off and it will shut down right away unless it's charging. Also my battery drains fast just like the OP's. I want to get the battery changed out but I don't want to waste money. Does anybody have a fix for this?
