After factory resetting my phone, it got stuck on checking updates screen.

Its a Samsung J1 Mini Prime. I factory reset it and two messages popped up after turning it on.
'Google Play Store has stopped.' and 'An unauthorised attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings. Connect to a Wi-Fi or mobile network to verify your identity.'

I connected it to the wifi and now it is stuck in the Software Update screen and is checking for updates for more than 2 hours now. I tried factory resetting it again and restarting it a couple of times. It keeps getting stuck on this screen.
