After rooting hero

I have a few more questions after rooting my hero. Since this is still new to me i rooted to the Cyanogenmod7. After I rooted it I lost all apps even the market no voice mail. I also couldnt log on to my wifi.I read the threads and down loaded the rom that it said to but know when I turn on phone it take me to a set up new hero phone and say push android to set it up I been trying to but cann't get it to go pass 1st step. Now did I down load the wrong Google add-on.

i dont know do i flash it in recovery or do i flash it before i install on my sd card

Put the gapps zip on the root of your SD card, just like the rom zip. Go into your recovery, flash the rom, then flash gapps. Reboot.

I did what you had told me to do but this is what i come up with,

i get a green android with a finger telling me to push it right under that it says welcome to hero200

then it reboots its self with a blue andriod on a skate board thats says cyanogen 7 then goes back to the green andriod

if you can help please help me out i tryed to push the green guy but cannt get anywhere else after that

It sounds like you successfully got it to boot. Try tapping the top left, right and bottom right and left corners of the screen going clockwise. This should skip the setup menu and let you get into the phone.

If it's unresponsive, then go back into recovery (power on+home) and wipe/factory reset, wipe dalvik and try rebooting.

Yeah, sounds like you need to wipe and reflash.

I would like to thank USER7618 and SRKMAGNUS for both of you helping me with this. I got done yesterday my hero is rooted.1 thing i dont understand is why it says verizon wireless up on the top righthand corner and also i was wondering can i use my hero with its 3g to run my ipad2. And thanks once more for all your help

I've gotten best results for voicemail with google voice. As for tethering your ipad, get wireless tether for root users. I don't know exactly how to set it up as I don't own an ipad, but I know that it can be used. Both of those apps are free in the market.
