After the OTA upgrade to Froyo, not so great!

I just got my OTA upgrade to Froyo from Verizon. The first thing I noticed that UI is really nice but the functionality is all screwed up. Sometimes it takes a couple taps for an app to run. Also the performance is really slugish now.

I'm just curious if anyone else is having the same problem. I'm thinking of resetting the phone so it will and reinstalling my apps. OR finding a clean ROM of Froyo and installing that.

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated

I had he same issue w my fascinate after froyo, Take your battery off while phone is turned on, take out SDcard, put it back in then . Reinsert battery and turn phone on.

I experienced similar glitches and sluggishness after the update as well. Gallery acting funny, and generally the phone being unstable, however after about two full days after the update, it's now very stable and smooth.

yeah...i have the same issues as well!! Sometimes when i'm on an app and want to return to my home screens, it hangs and all i see is my wallpaper. I have to wait for about 5-10 seconds before my apps show up. I already did a factory reset which to my surprise doesn't remove root...so yes I'm still rooted right now. Any thoughts?

I'm also having the same issue once I upgraded to Froyo. The battery life on the Fascinate got worse, I've tried a couple of things to help improve the battery life but still need to blug the phone at some point in the day. The apps take a while to open when you tap on them, also when you close them take a while. They also pre-installed a lot more VZW apps that I don't need or use.

Does any know how to remove them? By the way this is my 1st Andriod phone so don't know much of it and what not.

Thanks

LV

The bloat added that I can tell since updating to 2.2 OTA, consist of 3 apps or at most 4. Quite a few more options through the settings functions. Still looking around at this point. No serious issue with mine at this time.

Verizon Bloat is never so great

The Fascinate is a great phone, especially with Froyo. Your solution is to Root and go to:

The community has developed a great replacement for free. You need to read procedures!

I've got everything I needed and wanted - smooth, speed, GPS, everything..look for [ROM][4.26.2011][ED01]Community Rom

my stock 2.1 fascinate does this. it takes a long time for my apps to show up after leaving an app. I thought it was the launcher (Launcher Pro) but i've since tried a couple different launchers and they have all have the same delay.

launcherpro allows you to hide apps. i've hidden all the crapware from verizon using launcherpro. they aren't deleted but at least i don't have to look at them.

yeah, isn't it so inconvenient?! i didn't have that when i was running 2.1 though...it was only when i had to open txt messages. Now that issue is rectified and i have another *sigh* after holding off for so long with this software update i kind of expected this to be the best software update ever...apparently i was expecting too much and they have monkeys as programmers
