after update my galaxy s6 refuses to accept my password

I know that after being restarted the galaxy s6 fingerprint scanner wont work and that the backup password is required.
This is the first time it does not accept the password that i have used on every previous occasion.
Any advice how to unlock he phone?

Try a Cache Partition wipe. Tell us whether that fixes it.
