After Update questions

I'm pretty worried about this feature. I cannot figure out how to disable it. In approximately 1 minute, just to be a jerk, anyone can wipe my phone clean with hardly any effort. Has anyone figured a way to remove this feature while still being able to lock the screen.

I take it this specific to Sense 5, not just a general Android 4.2 thing? I can't begin to fathom why anyone thought this would be a good idea; most people who own smartphones aren't tech-savvy, and I can easily see someone's data being completely wiped because some kid, vengeful friend, nosy sibling, or **** pocket got in the way. At the very least, we should be able to disable that feature. If a complete data wipe erases everything--including security/tracking apps, how is that the optimum solution?

I've spoken with Verizon reps who are clueless, and chatted with an HTC rep who could only say that it was implemented "to enhance security" and can't be disabled.

Texting is horrible after the update!! Forget trying to send a picture or be part of a group text. I takes a full minute to open and respond to a group text.

I have abandoned the HTC messenger, and have started using Google Hangout SMS. Be sure to go into Play Store and check for a Hangouts app update. It's not perfect, but it is 100% better than the HTC service now (after the Sense 5 update). The Hangouts app has a few problems with MMS messages (sending/receiving), but simple SMS is pretty flawless and very snappy on reaction times.

I grabbed Textra to replace the stock messaging app, and it's absolutely night and day. Way, way, way faster and more intuitive in loading/viewing conversations (that is to say, it actually loads them correctly).

I have to use Textra because the stock SMS closes on me while typing a text message. I have also tried Google Hangouts and it does the same thing.

on a positive I have noticed that the DNA charges much quicker and no longer get the slow charging icon when charging in the car. I can actually have it plugged in to charge in car and run Waze or other program that keeps screen on and it will still charge to 100% (obviously depending on how discharged it was and how long my drive is).

I have noticed the same thing, and let me tell you I am thrilled!!!
