I'm thinking about getting a s4 aftermarket phone and wanted to know if I could get 4g speed on it in the usa?

Its gsm: 850/900/1800/1900 mhz + wcdma 850/2100

Edge gprs hsdpa 7 2mbps, hsupa 5.76mps

Well if you are buying one of the overseas units you will likely get the HSDPA+ which is about on par with LTE on Verizon and AT&T. Since AT&T (assuming you are going that route) is still building out LTE you should be ok.

It would be for tmobile. Because I have a unlimited data plan. But was told I might only get 3g which I have no idea the speed.

I think you'll only get edge with those bands.
