I know that it is probably not the best idea to ask this in a device-specific forum, but I'm asking in all three of them.

I am currently with Sprint and have a Samsung Epic. I love the phone (it is rooted) and HATE the service. I live in middle of Dallas/Ft. Worth, and yet cannot get data service most of the time from my house and work. Sprint says that it is the phone, but I doubt it as everyone I know with Sprint has been having problems. So I am looking for a change....

Back to the subject at hand...Verizon's data is looking the most attractive, even though it limited. The problem is that I can't decide on a device. I am swapping 2 phones, so I'd like to keep the price down. Verizon is currently offering the Bionic for $100 and the LG Spectrum for $100 ($200 but BOGO free and I need two). The Spectrum's screen is FANTASTIC and the Bionic's is horrible (compared to the Epic that we are used to). The Bionic's setup is similar to all the other Driods and seems as if the kinks are worked out. I would also expect to find more support on the forums and from Motorola due to the Driod's popularity, but I could be mistaken. The LG looks a lot like the Touchwiz that we are used to, and on paper is better. It has a better screen and faster processor and although it has less onboard memory, it has 4x what I am used to. My biggest concern is that the phone does not seem popular on the forums. I don't know how LG supports their phones, but with the Samsung I found that the forums had the best support. I'm also concerned that the lack of popularity will limit the rooting options. the battery seems similar for all three phones (MAXX is $300).

My third option (and probably first choice) is actually the RAZR, but it costs twice as much as the other two. Is the cost justifiable? It is frustrating knowing that they had it BOGO free not that long ago.

So, based on your experiences, which phone would you choose and why? Or do you think that I should look at AT&T or Sprint?

Amazon Wireless has the Razr for $69 and the Bionic for $29. The Razr MAXX is still $200. You get double data too, I think.

I was looking at Amazon but am worried that I might not get the support that I would get in the store. Also, Verizon is running some kind of promotion in my area where you get free Mobile to ANY Mobile that is not available on Amazon. Verizon says that it is only available in the store.

As long as I stay with Verizon for the 181 days, is there anything to be concerned about with Amazon Wireless?

you could wait about a month to get in it online at amazon and you can change your plans to suit your needs. I had a plan where I had 1400 minutes and I downgraded to 700 minutes and I got free mobile to mobile to any cell phone in the us

As much as I like the RAZR, if I was switching carriers I would just wait on the Motorola Fighter that should be here shortly.

and if you don't want to shell out the money for the fighter... its a good bet that the razr maxx will no longer be the 300 dollar phone and that the razr will no longer be the 200 dollar phone. so it could be worth the wait. Assuming verizon still offers the double your data promotion at that point.

I just recently switched from Sprint after 4 years had having an OG Evo4g since release week. IMO the Evo was a much better phone than the cheap feeling Samsung Epic and loved my Evo. (Yes rooted and rom'd) Made the swap over to Verizon and wife and I both got the RAZR and I wouldn't trade this phone for any other I have played with. Just my .02
