well today i broke my epic4g, was in my work van and it somehow made its way onto the floor and i stepped on it.
cracked the screen.
thinking these years ive paid the 7 dollars a month for insurance i could shoot quickly to the sprint store to get it fixed and pick it up later.
the guy was a dick, told me they didnt cover screen cracks that extensive and said i had to pay deductible.
well doesnt do me no good right now as i need a phone in my hands, i have no time to wait, and dont have the 100 to spare.
i leave as the guy is talking, finish working and head to the strictly sales sprint store, since sprint gave me my upgrade back, i figured i could get something for the mean time and give it back later.
funny, they had the Photon on display and offered it to me today, i so wanted it, but times arent as easy as they used to be.
so i looked around, the only free phones were the blackberry style (makeup case lol) and the Zio(so slow), my choices werent great.
then, the store tells me they were struck by lightning and they cannot accept cash, must write up all new contracts and call in all new activations/upgrades.
a guy infront of me got the evo3d, i was shocked to see the sprint store was using the old school Credit card medal sliding imprint machines (LOL), so i asked, well how do you know if the cards are approved? she said "We Dont"
so i ended up getting the optimus S, not the best, but 20 dollars, plus 50 mail in rebate, i didnt pay anything up front and gave them a card that didnt charge at the time, which they did inform me would charge to my account if the payment didnt go through.
i had the optimus for a hour and its already rooted, and running a custom rom and kernel.
while its no evo/epic, its a great entry level phone and gets the job done.
it feels real nice, solid and uses real metal on the case.
within the month, ill take it back to get my upgrade back and save it for either the photon or sgs2.
while i could of scammed them by taking advantage of the photon and giving them a CC without enough on it, i just went with whats in my budget for right now, besides its only temporary since i needed a phone right away.
