So I'd been search for a decent, low priced 7" Android tablet. Thought I found it in the Aigopad N700 (from China). Well, the hardware is pretty darn nice. The 800x600 (probably more like 800x480, I would assume) screen is OK, but not great. Does the job, mostly. Main problem... I comes with an incredibly terrible UI developed in China. Also, it seems they [might/probably] have a proxy built into the code to send traffic back to mainland China, making it near impossible to use online.

So, what do I do, I [try to] hack it. I copied out the boot.img, system.img and recovery.img files using dd commands. They left it pretty open and it has fastboot on it. I try and flash 2.2 and 2.3. Both loaded alright, but were incredibly buggy and not really functioning much. So I went to load the old system.img back and I get an error saying that the img size is less than what it should be. Says it should be like 212MB (i think) and the img I'm loading is about 176MB. Well after reading around, looks like you gotta do more w/ the dd command to get all the data for the system.img to be complete. But, alas... it's too late for me because I've already [stupidly] cleared out the older system.img via fastboot.

I'm hoping 1 or 2 things... I can get the company to replace it under warranty. Which is fine, cuz it just boots to recovery and nothing more. No real record (other than this) of me doing any tampering. OR, someone happens to have the same device on hand and a full system.img file. The problem with the first option, I have to ship back to China and the shipping is a major b*%$# going back into China. They even charge a tax (600 Yuan) and you have to find an express company that can even deliver it from Hong Kong to China.

So... I'm really hoping someone has an img file. PLEASE?!?!

And yup, I've done the searching and can't find the source, img or anyone else that seems to have this one (other than me). Thoughts?!
