Hey guys,

I haven't used AIM for 2 years but people who used to be on my buddy list keep saying that I IM them all the time. I have a virus but apparently there is no way to delete an AOL account. I have no idea how to get rid of it. Anyone had this problem before?? Thanks so much for helping me out

There's no such thing as an "AIM Virus", your computer could have a virus that uses AIM to send spam messages or you may have gotten a virus from clicking on a link in an AIM message but your AIM account can't be infected.

If you think you have a virus, take care of that first. After you're done, you can log into AIM Express and change your password, if it was compromised someone may be using your account. There are also settings to make you invisible, there may be one to make you appear online all the time (I haven't touched an official AIM client in years - I use Pidgin). AIM is also nice in that when you log in it tells you if you're logged in more than once. By responding with a "1" you can log out the other session.
