AIO Wireless or Straight Talk?

I'm currently w/ST using att towers. At first i was very happy, but increasingly it seems like I'm randomly throttled even though i know I haven't hit my cap. I want to try aio. Is there a way to order a sim card and port my # AFTER I receive the card in the mail. Should i just enter that i want a new # on their website and then port after i actually receive the sim card?

How was the process of porting your Straight Talk number to AIO wireless? This is the only thing stopping me from switching. Back in February they told me that I couldn't port a number from ST to AIO. I know of a process of porting my number to another carrier and then to AIO but I don't feel like going through the hassle.

I actually ditched my ST number and got a new one with AIO wireless. I moved cities and thought it'd be good to have a number that was more 'local'. Kept my google voice number in the old area code, so I've got options.

I think if you ask for a new number, that one will be associated with the sim card and you'd have to get a fresh one to port your current number to. But more to the point, you can just order a sim card with porting, and the porting won't take place until you activate the sim.
From their website: "We'll start the number transfer process when you activate your new device."

If you're interested in trying AIO and want to save $25, send me a PM and I'll get you a referral code before you order the sim.

Unless they made some changes, you can't port from ST to AIO from their website. A CS representative told me that I would have to go to a store to have this done. Unfortunately, I do not live nowhere near an AIO wireless store.

The rep from Aio told me that they could port numbers from ST....and he also said to call ST and ask them to release the number, and we know what dealing with ST customer service is like!

I'm considering switching from TMO to AIO later this month. If I do, do you want to do the referral?
