Air bubble on my screen protector.

I was able to put a screen protector on the back of my Xperia Z2, however, a small issue occured:

As you can see, the down left side still has a "bubble". I couldn't remove it with a card. Since I don't have another protector and also don't want to mess with this one, do you think it will be ok if I leave it like this? The protector won't start getting off from that side, right? Thank you.

Are you using a case with it? If so that might be able to hold that side in place. If not, that is definitely a lifting point, so it could start peeling off at that side. However, the most obnoxious issue would be dust getting in there all the time. It's lifted from the curvature of the phone on that edge; since the protector is stiff, it can't adhere to the curved side properly. If you try to reapply it, make sure it's centered so that the curved edges don't play a part on adhesion.

I have a flip cover that covers the whole back area. So with this screen protector, it should be even more safe, right? Even if there wasn't a protector on the back, the flip cover would still protect the back?

Yup, it would. But since this is an 'open wound' on the protector and the back of it is sticky, you'll still see some dust collecting in there. Not gonna break your device, but just so you know what to expect. Then again, if you don't remove your flip cover, you won't see it.

I hate putting on screen protectors. ALWAYS have air bubbles. Have to be perfectly aligned to work with my case or it pops it up at the ends.

Okay, I tried doing this again. This time everything is perfect, except this:



It is the only place, where an air bubble has occured. Do you think dust might get trapped there? Would a hair get stuck in front of the camera and ruin everything when taking a picture? I am tired of doing this... I am giving up on trying to put properly a screen protector.

If it's a trapped air bubble, then no, no dust or hair is going to be trapped, but from the looks of it, that's another 'bubble' caused by the protector being lifted at an edge, in this case, the camera lens rim. If this IS the case, most likely it will build up some dust. And while a hair can get trapped in there, it will also be easily removed. If too much sand or lint gets in there, however, you might get funky lighting from the flash.

Thanks for the response. Any idea how to remove it, and if I'm not able to, can I continue to use the camera that way? Does the back of the phone really needs a screen protector (I am also using a flip cover), or I am just being paranoid...

If it doesn't go away with a credit card (try to 'squeeze it out'), then the only way to get rid of it is re-aligning the protector so that it doesn't touch any of the camera lens borders.

You don't necessarily need the protector, but it's always better to have an extra layer of protection. In your case, since you're using a flip cover that already covers the back of the phone, you have an even further layer of protection. What I'd do is just leave it as is and see if it doesn't start collecting too much dust. If it doesn't, then just use it like that. It won't affect the camera since the lens is not being obstructed, it's just the flash if it gets TOO dusty, but it might not even collect that much. Try it out!
