alarm clock issue

Hi all. New guy here who just found this place. Looks like some experienced users and I'm hoping someone can help me with the alarm clock.

I've tried it three times, all while awake and the phone laying next to me on the couch. When I picked up the phone the clock disappeared, and so did the option to hit snooze or cancel. The only way I could shut the thing up was to power the droid off. I couldn't even go into that alarm and edit it off. This obviously isn't going to work very well if I go and use it in the morning. I'm coming off of a pearl, where all I had to do was find the trackball in the dark and push it. Let alone my hearing is so bad, about the only sound that I can hear is the rooster... ackkk. The dogs don't like it either. It's like the motion of the phone is hiding the alarm screen, but I don't know where it's putting it.

Worked just fine for me - but it is in the media dock when it goes off for me.

Also the volume is not a problem at all, in fact it was way too loud this morning IMHO.

Have definitely not had the 'can't turn it off' problem.

hmmm, maybe the phone should be in a docking station then?
I may have to find a good alarm clock app then, as I use my alarm to remind me of things, too. And even if I bought a docking station, I wouldn't always have it with me and the phone sitting in it. The problem I found with the calendar is it only alerts you once, so if you don't hear it the first time you can kiss your appointment goodbye.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, I had that problem yesterday when I tested it. I accidentally hit something and the alarm screen went away, but the alarm kept ringing. Turns out, it hides in the Notification bar at the top of the screen. Just drag that down and you'll see the Alarm notification. When you see that, click it and the alarm screen will pop back up so you can Snooze or Dismiss it.

Hope that helps.

That helps immensely, hepbone! Thanks.
At least I'll be able to use the alarm during the daytime, but for night maybe I'll have to keep the BB plugged in (lol). Or buy a real alarm clock... I certainly don't need to be adjusting the eye coordination that quickly in the morning to pull the notification bar down.

Thanks again. I never noticed it up there.
