Alarm clock now missing

I use my alarm clock all the time, and I am pretty sure it came with the phone. I have multiple alarms on it that continue to go off as scheduled. However, I somehow lost the ability to change the alarms or add new ones. Previously I went into Apps > Clock > and clicked the alarm clock icon. It isn't there anymore. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

What version of Android are you using? And can you post a screenshot of what comes up when you open the Clock app?

I had the same problem and installed a third party app 'Timely' - only problem being the settings for the app were separate to those set using the default android alarm. Putting 2 & 2 together - what was happening was the alarm for Timely would go off but separately so would any alarms set in default alarm. Having 'lost' the default alarm icon I couldn't go in to turn off these old set alarms!!

ANSWER - coming close to doing a reluctant factory reset I was playing around in the clock area and came apon the answer!

Click on the clock settings and if your issue is the same as mine there's no icon for 'alarms' along the bottom panel (which includes icons for Stopwatch, Timer, World Clock etc)

Press on the World Clock icon and hold it down until you see a screen that says "Press and hold icons to rearrange" (initially a globe will display but keep holding for a couple of seconds until this next screen appears).

Now with any luck you'll see your missing Alarm icon sitting in this screen. Press on the alarm icon and drag it back down into the bottom panel alongside all the other icons.

Solved! You can now access your deafult Android Alarm again. I was messing around with the icons & was trying to drag the alarm icon out to my main screen - in doing so the action 'deleted' the icon or rather hid it unknowingly. Thankfully it wasn't lost forever. No factory reset required

Yes, the alarm clock went missing after the latest update to Android 5.0 It is really annoying but If you go to the CLOCK app in you phone you should be able to see the options for alarm, World clock etc. I never used this clock app before as in previous versions we had the option to swipe down on main screen ,click on time and set alarm. Things have changed after the update :'(
