Alarm doesn't sound :-(

Hi, this is a problem I've had a few times recently running android 4.1.2 on my galaxy s3. I set the alarm, make sure sound is on and the day is activated (I.e. it says alarm is due in 8 hours or so). Despite this, when the alarm becomes due, no sound is produced.

Luckily my wife has spotted the problem and woken me and my alarm shows it is snoozing. AFAIK I haven't changed anything on my phone. I do have "swipe" lock enabled, but this didn't cause any problems in the past.

I have the same problem with countdown timer randomly not going off. Very frustating while baking or proofing.

So the alarm (forget the audio issue for the moment) isn't being triggered, or it's being triggered (not making any audio that you're aware of) and then going into snooze mode?

Have you checked the audio that the alarm app defaults to? Perhaps you should pick a different tone just to see what happens?
Does the alarm app have its own volume settings or does it use the system default?
