So the alarm on my S5 shuts itself off after 1 minute.. how the heck do I keep it running so I have to actually get it up and turn it off?

I need to know this too. One of the 8,000 reasons I fight smashing this phone into a pile of dust every day.

Hi
The only option I see is to set more than one alarm times.
Good luck.

That's honestly really dumb that they programmed the alarm this way. On previous Samsung devices the alarm would continously go off until you turned it off.

For this very reason is why I set multiple alarms, as much as 10 alarms in 5 minute intervals

I can't help you with the stock alarm clock, but I have the best phone alarm clock ever invented, IMO. It is called Gentle Alarm and available at the Store. I believe I have used it since the Epic. You can set it to go off for all the way up to an hour, set how many snoozes, how long the snoozes, decrease each consecutive snooze time if you want, it has night display feature that can be activated, any alarm, music or ringtone you could play, there is a pre alarm (hence "Gentle Alarm" but I don't use the feature) that is quieter before the main alarm kicks on, and the coolest feature, I think, is you can turn on a function that after "x" number of snoozes, you must either solve a few math multiplications or pattern puzzles, your choice, to get the thing to shut off...you can also choose the difficulty level. This will really make sure you are alert and not turn the alarm off and fall back asleep unless you really want to do so.

The dev is very responsive and updates any little bugs that may come out with new ROMs all the time.

It think it said it costs now $1.59 (I never tried the free trial version so I don't know has a the bells and whistles as the paid), but I only paid for it once 5 years ago and with every new phone I get, it downloads right out of the Play Store just like the old one.

Some of these features may sound complicated, but the help screen thoroughly explains everything. Get it tweaked once the way you like it and you are set for good. I have some mild-moderate hearing loss and I cannot consistently count on any other phone alarm if I am super sleepy. After I got this app, I've never bothered to turn on a stock alarm on my last 3 phones.

Caution: If you wind up getting it, do not set the alarm to AUTO UPDATE as this could happen in the middle of the night....just update manually from Play.

There is no way to fix this. It is by design. Stupid design, but still by design from Samsung.

I suggest trying the free Alarm Plus app. It has ads that you can remove for $0.99 of you want.

It's awesome and will just keep alarming until you stop it. It is also unaffected by the phone's

It's awesome and will just keep alarming until you stop it. It is also unaffected by the phone's volume, has gentle wake up mode and can even make you answer a math equation to silence the alarm.

I chatted with a Samsung rep today about the auto shutoff of the alarm after 1 minute and all she would say is that it is by design.

I can't wait to try the new Windows flagship phone this fall.

Hi
I'm using Clock by google, inc.
It is free and allows you to set alarm sound for longer times.
Good luck.
