Alarm wake up phone ??

My Blackberry would actually turn the phone on in the morning and ring the alarm

I seem to have to have the phone on for the alarm to work.. Is there a setting I am missing or is this how it works ??

As far as I know, the phone always needs to be on. This is not something you can change.

If you are trying to save the battery life overnight, turn off the internet. The phone and text will still work-along with the alarm.
