Alarms and timers sound only once then end?

I am new to android, and I'm curious, perhaps something is wrong, and maybe I need to check a setting somewhere, but when I have a timer or alarm set, they just play the selected sound once and then stop, I would think they should go off until dismissed.

Also seem to change the alarm sound, and it's always the same. 3 beeps. then stops. pretty useless unless there is a fix?

Welcome to Android Central! The notification or alarm tones will play once but the notification itself should remain in the status bar/notification panel until you dismiss it.

There are 3rd party apps you can try, like Missed Notifications Reminder.

Some phone manufacturers (like Samsung) have a Notification Reminders option built-in. On Samsung devices, it's in ​Settings>Notifications>Advanced Settings.
