"Album Artist" is not displayed properly

When browsing music on my Galaxy S10+ (or its SD card) in the "Hi-Fi Cast" app I'm finding that rather than displaying the album artist, it's populating that field with one of the track artists at random. So a Various Artiats album will decide that the artiat from, say, track 3 is the arrtist for the whole album and present the other tracks accordingly.

Playing back from my NAS through the same app displays the music correctly. Album Artist is correct.

I contactrd the app developer and they told me that this is actually an Android proble. Sure enough the YouTube music app behaves the same way, but other apps like Samsun's own player and VLC player are fine.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix or setting that can be changrd?

Thanks!

This seems to be a common issue with many Linux-based systems -- "Various Artists" compilation albums. I've seen a similar problem on Tesla's music player as well, but instead a compilation album gets broken up into as many albums as there are artists (i.e., if there are 10 tracks with each artist being different, then it displays 10 separate single-track albums for each of those artists). Ultimately, I had to change the ID3 tags on the tracks of those compilation albums so that the Artist of each track was Various Artists (since the Album Artist field would either be ignored or not prioritized). Then I'd add the artist name to each track's title. A total pain.:-\

With iTunes, you could get around this by checking the Compilation Album checkbox -- I wish there was a way to do this in Linux-based music players.
