Alcatel 3T 8 screen will block if you lay back

[Android Central Question]

On the Alcatel 3T 8, if you lay back when using the tablet, so the screen is facing downwards it will go into some sort of safety lock thing. A picture of a boy laying back will appear with a red cross and will.not go u less you sit up. I have gone through everything and can't find a way to turn it off, anyone know if it is possible to turn this feature off?

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like some kind of safety measure to prevent people from accidentally dropping the tablet on their faces if they're lying down and watching something.

Does this happen in Safe Mode as well? https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/android/alcatel-3t-8/safe-mode-alcatel-3t-8. Is there a Kids Mode turned on?
