Alexa can't turn on AV receiver on new Fire Stick

I just got a new Fire Stick and have everything pretty much set up. The Fire Stick remote is able to turn my Denon receiver on and off and control the volume but when I followed its suggestion to use Alexa it doesn't know what I am talking about. I assumed I would call it the name of the input which on the Fire Stick is "AV Receiver" but no matter what I try Alexa doesn't know which device I am talking about. Any ideas?

Edit: It does work, it's apparently just very flaky. I tried it a bunch of times last night and finally got it to work. Maybe the IR beam is incredibly narrow or something but it seems like I'm pointing it at the same place every time.

I am not sure you can. I assume it will only works with the Cube. I have 2 Cubes and 2 FireTvs and only the Cubes is seen in the Alexa App for modifications?
