Phone experienced the "disappearing apps" issue. After unmounting and remounting the SD card, All apps came back except one, which showed 2 icons for the same app, (PhotoDirector). Neither icon could find the app, and neither icon could uninstall the app. I reinstalled the app and 1 icon disappeared, replaced by the real application. But nothing I do can get rid of the 1 bad icon.

Here is a screenshot of what I am seeing

One way that will probably work (but will also require you to set your homescreens back up) would be clear the cache/data from the homescreen launcher app. Go to Settings>Apps, tap Menu>Show System, and look for the Samsung launcher app -- sorry, but I'm not sure the exact name for it. It might be TouchWiz Home or Samsung Experience. Select it, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. This will wipe your homescreens clean, so you'll have to set them up again -- but I think it will also reset the app drawer.
