[All Atrix Roms]4 Atrix roms here

Gingerblur ROCKS. Huge credit to Ken and his team.

Every Atrix should be rooted, webtop/hulu/tether modded and Gingerblurred!

do any of these roms have the option to activate hsdpa/hsupa? I read that the rom for HTC Inspire has this option
thanks

gingerblur

I downloaded both the zip of gingerblur and the rom opened straight to my phone and got it running in 10 mins. 2.3 runs great so much smoother and faster then 2.2 froyo this Tom is great only prob I have found so far is wifi will not stay connected at times. Also this deletes all your screens and folders but saves apps and all info. I reccomend you do a backup with titanium before installing this rom

I downloaded Tenfar's Recovery and sideloaded onto my Atrix. The sideloader said that it was successful. But, I can't find the file on my phone to install the app. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
D

Nevermind. I found it using File Expert.

And I just loaded GreyBlur ROM and man it's great. I love it. So much faster and better looking than stock.

Thanks to the devs for this. This was my first try at loading a custom boot rom and I had very little trouble.

The overall speed of the stock phone was good, but GreyBlur is ridiculous fast. Love the different font also.

Hi,

I have just picked up my Atrix on Orange UK and was wondering if i can get Gingerblur?

There is a big warning in the Gingerblur thread above for Bell Owners not to Download but nothing is mentioned about Orange UK Customers... does anyone have any info?

Are there any Orange UK Atrix Owners out there?

Look in dev section of XDA, there is a thread for GingerBlur on Bell Atrix.

I've loaded GreyBlur and I love it, but now I keep getting notices to update to 4.1.83. Can I update and still keep GreyBlur?? If not, how do I stop the auto-update??

thanks,
D

In general, if you're rooted (not even counting the themed ROM you're using) you should never take an OTA.

You can try it--the worst that could happen is you have to use RSD lite and flash an SBF.

You should flash the 8.3 SBF and then use a different AOSP looking ROM/theme... a quick search shows that gingerblur is updated to 8.3. You probably want 8.3 for the radio updates... but hey if it never bothered you before i guess it shouldn't matter.

I wouldn't use a ROM/theme that wasn't maintained.

Common mistake. People using ROMs that don't have a steady backing, or people using ROMs from unverified sources. You hit the nail right on the head npark.

Dastrick - In my opinion the updates in 1.83 were decent enough to flash back to stock, update, and reapply the ROM. If you regularly backup, it shouldn't take too long to get back up to running speed. And at the bare minimum you'll get the radio updates.

--- Side note --- In the Atrix4G main forum, there are people CLAIMING (not verified as god's honest truth) that flashing to 1.83 has actually improved their battery life slightly. Once again, not endorsing this. Not verifying it as true, just mentioning its being discussed relatively actively at the moment.

I had already updated to 1.83 before installing GreyBlur. When I installed GreyBlur it went back to 1.57. I can tell a very noticable difference in speed using GreyBlur. I'm fine with 1.57, I just want the update notification to stop.

And thanks for the replies. :)

Interesting I flashed to gingerblur and I stayed at 1.83. Gingerblur is very fast and the speed of the phone is much better just better overall. I have also noticed my data speeds are much better as well.

Loaded Gingerblur last night, so limited amount of time with it but WOW. Not only is the battery lasting longer, but I noticed it charged faster than before. Over all speed of the phone is probably faster, I say probably because it was so fast before I don't know if what I see is actual improvement or just the wow factor. What I can tell you is when running before I could only ever get about 380mg of ram available, even after a fresh reboot and after having frozen (via titanium backup) all unneeded programs. I have been able to get 550 available and that is still with a couple of random widgets running. Just to show I am unbiased i will say that I'm not real happy with the look of the new Messaging app, but have downloaded another one which solved that, also when plugged into HDMI it does a true mirror but that wont go into landscape to show movies and such, I just installed a zip that is suppose to fix that but I am not home yet to see how well that worked. Also did the battery % zip and love that. It shows the battery percentage right in the battery icon at the top of the screen, I had a Battery widget going just so it would show me this, so one less app running and cluttering things up. Calander widget doesnt work, that is a known problem and so far they dont have a solution that I found.

Overall Gingerblur is awesome! It does have a few negatives, but the Positives pile so high you cant even see the negatives anymore.
