Not sure what's going on. Followed the official guide for unlocking bootloader and rooting new Nexus 4. When trying to install files via .zip format through CWM it gets to installing then says installation aborted. I've tried wiping data/factory reset a couple of times. The ROM in question it latest build of AOKP (mako version) so I know it's the right ROM. Any thoughts?

Thats weird.. this is 2defmouze's guide? Did you install superuser? Also try the troubleshooting section? If not I'm sure he'll be able to help you out when he comes on.

Not sure what was ever wrong. Downloaded ROM manager and downloaded the ROM I wanted through there and it worked.

Could be that you were somehow using an outdated version of recovery, or that the zip files you tried to flash were getting corrupted however you got them to the device (md5 check would tell you). In any case I'm glad you got it working, but it's good to try and figure out what was wrong so you can flash from within recovery and not need to rely on ROM Manager.

Yeah. i've gone ahead and flashed a separate ROM independently from ROM manager. It's been a while since i've done it but it's like riding a bike, really. ;)
