All kinds of safe boxes not working [Honor 6C Pro]

For a couple days now, everytime I try to access either the Safe Box in the default Huawei file manager or the Hidden Archive in the Asus file manager (I have it installed because I prefer it over Huawei FM) the file manager app in question locks up and is stuck on loading screen on following attempts at opening it, furthermore whenever I try to unlock my phone after trying to open a safe box the fingerprint doesn't work and I can enter the PIN but upon entering it correctly the phone doesn't recognize it and doesn't unlock (as it does usually).

Any ideas on why this happens and how to fix it?

Something might be messing with the encryption. I'd disable Safe Box and uninstall Hidden Archive (which should fix it - try booting into safe mode to see if it's Hidden Archive) and use fingerprint locking on apps you want to keep safe. You can also rename apps, so they don't appear to be what they are.
