All messages under phone calls, call app or Android 11?

I have been noticing when I go to make a call or return a call under recents, I see not only recent calls but text messages as well. This is not needed since I have a text message app for that reason. It is very annoying especially when trying to block all the spam calls I have been getting since moving to AT&T.

Can this be fixed? I looked for it in the settings but found nothing.

What device do you have?

What app are you using for your dialer/keypad/phone app? Those 3 would all be the same app, just depending on what people call it or how they looked it up at the Play Store.

I have an S21 on AT&T and haven't noticed any issue like this with my Recent list using the stock phone app. When you say, since moving to..., so do you mean on this same device it was different before changing carriers?

It sounds like this only affects you because you go back through your recent call log to attempt to block numbers that were or are suspected of being spam. Have you looked through your phone app to see if you have the ability to have it do some of the leg work for you? Again this is from a Samsung perspective but I have a spam filter built into the settings of my phone app but I cannot imagine they are the only ones to have done this.

I have a Fold 3 on AT&T. The apps are the ones that came on the phone.

It is the phone app that is on the phone, when I go to see who called, it shows who texted me as well, it is so weird. I see no options to change it either. It really makes no sense so I feel it's something that is done on the rotten fruit phones and someone is trying to copy it.

Can u post a screen shot just block any personal information.

As you can see in the picture there are both calls and messages. It is very annoying.

I see , hmm I'm using Google messages , are you using the stock Samsung? Maybe try that

I am using the stock app. It's not the message app it's the phone app that is the issue.

So I decided to take a look again. Oddly there was a new section under options about showing messages. I clicked on that and magically the messages were removed from the phone call app. Why Samsung would do this I have no clue.
