All notfications vibrate, even with settings checked not to

Does anyone have this problem where all your active notifications will make the phone vibrate, even if the app has the vibrate checked off? I only want my text messages and Kik message to vibrate, otherwise i just want the flashing screen. In Gmail, I have the vibrate button unchecked, but the phone still vibrates when I receive and email.

Does this happen when your phone has the ringer on? The vibrate option only means the notification will vibrate along with sound. He notification will vibrate no matter what in vibrate mode.

I just tried that - it does not vibrate on new Gmail when the phone is not set to vibrate only.

Its just odd - or maybe I'm not used to that. Coming from a Galaxy S3, the phone would only vibrate on texts and Kik's, and gmail and other notifcations would only turn the notfication LED on even if the phone was set to vibrate.

That's how it should work. When the sound is on and Vibrate is unchecked from the app it won't vibrate. But when in Vibrate mode it will still activate. I know that not what you want but in terms of stock options that's all you can do.

Can anyone chime in with a third party app that will solve this? I've never tried so I don't want to recommend anything that costs money.
