Android Central Question

I have activated all of the Smart Typing options except Auto Punctuate and none are working. When writing a message it wont auto correct when I misspell something, it doesn't display suggestions and it incorrectly displays the red line. example, I wrote a message to my partner that said "Just wanted to say" and it had a red line under Just, trying to change it to "Mart". All options are pointing to Samsung keyboard and I am using the same. Really frustrating as I used it a lot on the S7 but I cannot get it to work correctly on S9.. any thoughts?

I'd start with a reset to default settings, and then make sure that your input language is set to English US.

it's been acting weird on mine to. Plus I feel it's missing options like suggest emojis, the speech to text isn't recognizing my voice like my s8 did. Really annoying.

i haven't used a samsung keyboard in 2 years. there is a great free keyboard that i find easier to use than the samsung keyboard. google search blackberry manager from your phones web browser and download it, then download the keyboard in the app. it does flick and swipe typing ( i only use the flick), auto correct, auto capitalization all on the keyboard it's self, and it has all the options for other settings on top of the keyboard

When I got my S9 Plus a week ago I noticed it wasn't recognizing my voice like my Note 8 and I always speak my text and it was getting so many things wrong. Well I don't know about you but I was messing with settings and saw mine had defaulted to Samsung Voice and not Google Voice. Like my Note when I pressed the mic I got the green circle and this was a big blue square I just thought Samsung keyboard had been updated in Oreo or on the 9 Plus and I was trying to figure things out with the keyboard and was going to switch to gboard which I just started using cause it has bitmoji options and I love the text to emojis and than I figured out to put it on google voice and what a difference when speaking text. I sometimes see my word change to the correct word I didn't know that was a setting is that a Samsung thing? Wonder if it's on gboard?

I like the Samsung keyboard too cause of the AR Emojis and this may sound weird but I like the swiping better on the Gboard and I love the text to Emojis. But the other day while telling a friend about Minnie Mouse emoji a mouse appeared in my message and it was the Samsung keyboard and I can't get it to do it again. If Samsung did text to emojis it would be so much better but I like Gboard too I switch around keybaords but I mostly like the Samsung one cause it matches my themes.

I'll definitely try switching to the Google voice see if that works. And I wish samsung had text to emoji to, I switch between that and the BlackBerry keyboard. But I'd only use the Samsung one of it had a few small.changes that being one of them.

This may sound weird and I may have already mentioned it but I swype better on the Gboard but I didn't know this but when the google mic is up the green circle their is a keyboard icon at the bottom corner to switch keyboards quickly. I knew their had to be an easier way and I figured it out. Used to be you hold down where your typing but yeah mainly for the matching of my themes I use Samsung but I love the text to emojis and that gboard has a bitmoji option if only it would add the AR emojis also that would be great.

But yes go to google voice big difference over Samsung voice.

had a issue with predictive not working, installed swiftkey , everything worked ok, but didn't really like the swiftkey keyboard, uninstalled swiftkey soon after, and hey presto predictive text now working on the standard keyboard.
