All updates being stopped soon. (U.S Ban)

Looks like Trump is making things more difficult soon. I read some article that all older Huawei phones will stop receiving updates soon. This whole Huawei being a national security issue is becoming such a joke. I don't understand why people can't see through this. It's clearly showing that they're trying to stop Huawei's growth and trying to destroy them since Huawei huge in China.

well it's just not the updates we're talking about it's all apps (maybe even google play stop working?)

It would be great if you could link that article you found for us to review it as well. Updates don't cost you extra, so I wonder if there's a misunderstanding somewhere.

From how i understand it and feel free to correct me if im wrong but because the licence for current play store devices is essentially bought and paid for and not new business which is what the lack of a licence prohibits then that means devices with play store on there wont lose access to anything they already have and android updates are open source so they will continue to come also for as long a Huawei want to continue bringing them.

That's good news I guess for the older models. I'm ready to move on forward I have my P40 pro on order just waiting for it.

I hate nonsense. The article I read said the license extension was expiring soon, not the first time, and if it wasn't extended, and it has been before, the updates would end. I've read nothing saying it was happening. Then I read, "doohsun: well it's just not the updates we're talking about it's all apps (maybe even google play stop working?)"

Ah an agenda. Me? I'd delighted with my Huawei p30 pro and am getting more than enough nonsense in my life from virus Hysterics that I don't need it here. I'm wondering what the replacement will be since the Huawei p40 pro isn't in my future. Wish it could be.

Separate issue: When I got my p30 pro last September the facial recognition didn't work. It would supposedly save my face, such as it is, but it didn't open anything. This morning I noticed it saying it was trying to recognize my face and since I have precious little else to do I went in, erased the face shots in memory and took two new ones. It works perfectly. It's cool. I suspect it's due to one of the updates, perhaps the 10.1. I gave up trying to use it in January so some update between then and now apparently make a big difference.
